If the screen is unreadable (out of sync), blindly log in as root and type "textmode" to restore your screen. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS ptf4007d is intended, and has only been tested on: SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.3 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.3 SLS ptf4007d can be installed on these releases: SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.01, 2.02, 2.03 SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.0, 2.1.1, 2.1.2 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.01, 2.02, 2.03 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.0, 2.1.1, 2.1.2 Previous versions of SLS ptf4007 required that SLS ptf3141c be installed for these older releases of SCO UnixWare. This dependency was removed in SLS ptf4007c. SLS ptf4007d supersedes SLSs ptf4007a, ptf4007b and ptf4007c; however it is not necessary to remove these earlier versions prior to installing ptf4007d. The compatible bus types for SLS ptf4007d are PCI and AGP. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf4007d.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the SLS package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf4007d.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf4007d # rm /tmp/ptf4007d 3. To set a new graphics mode, log out of the graphical desktop, log in as root on the console and run one of these commands: # /usr/X/lib/display/setvideomode -vinfo mach64 OR: # /usr/X/lib/display/setvideomode -vinfo virge 4. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this SLS package. The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in: # /var/sadm/pkg/ptf4007/install/ptf4007.txt Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. Become root and remove the SLS package by typing these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf4007 2. There is no need to reboot the system after removing this SLS package.
