Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3138C for SCO UnixWare Online Data Manager Release 2.1.0, contains the set of fixes provided with the VERITAS(r) File System Release 2.1.1 from VERITAS Software Corporation. This SLS will update the Online Data Manager VxFS drivers which are installed as part of the SCO UnixWare Online Data Manager package set, as well as various other commands and drivers supplied as part of SCO UnixWare ODM. Note: This SLS does not update the VxFS drivers which are installed as part of the base SCO UnixWare 2.1 operating system installation. Also note the distinction between the SCO UnixWare release number and the VxFS (or VERITAS(r) File System) release numbers. SCO UnixWare Release 2.1.1 does not imply the 2.1.1 release of VxFS. It is this supplement (PTF3138C) which upgrades the VxFS in Online Data Manager to 2.1.1. SLS PTF3138C addresses these issues: - Rebooting after a panic saved to a swap device can result in a loop, due to redirection of stdin when calling dumpcheck from /etc/init.d/vxvm-startup. See IT os/3199. - vxdump(1M) aborts with "vxdump: master/slave protocol botched.". - Updates to the VxVM VOL_READ and VOL_WRITE ioctls. - Various performance enhancements. - Potential panics in the VxFS drivers.
