Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3072, the SCSI Disk Target Driver Supplement, installs an updated driver which handles a bus reset caused by a SCSI Host Bus Adapter driver. The Disk Target Driver (sd01) mishandled the occurrence of a bus reset which led to system panic trap. The fault handling module of the target driver was modified to gracefully recover from the bus reset condition. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- This SLS can be installed on SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.0 or SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.0. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Become root and create a new directory by typing the following: $ su Password: # mkdir /tmp/pkg # chmod 700 /tmp/pkg # cd /tmp/pkg 2. Download the ptf3072.Z and the ptf3072.txt files to the newly created /tmp/pkg directory on your machine. 3. Uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: # uncompress /tmp/pkg/ptf3072.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/pkg/ptf3072 4. Reboot the system after installing this PTF. Removal Instructions --------------------- 1. As root, remove the package. $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf3072 2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS.
