Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3011, English Locales for NUC supplement, creates required links or copies in /usr/lib/iconv/nwlocale that are not in the NUC package for SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.0 and SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.0. The locale files for these four countries are inadvertently skipped during system installation: Australia, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand. All other English language locales, and all non-English locales, are installed properly. Only those users who have configured their systems for one of the above mentioned locales are affected by this omission. This problem can be identified by these error conditions: 1. When running the NetWare Unix Client (NUC) login from the X Desktop, this error occurs: _Auto-Authenticator_: ** An unexpected error occurred (1:0xfffffe10) ** 2. From the X Desktop, this error occurs from "Printer_Setup" after selecting menu items "NetWare" then "NetWare Login...": ** Cannot get connection information ** Attempts to map a UNIX printer to a _bindery queue_ result in the error message: _Auto-Authenticator_: ** An unexpected error occurred (1:0xfffffe10) ** 3. Running nwlogin from a Terminal (XTerm) window results in this error message: LOGIN-4.12-973: The Unicode table files cannot be found in the NLS directory or in the search path. Code Page: 88591 Country: 061 4. Running nwcx from a terminal (XTerm) window, or from non-graphical login, results in this error message: CX-4.20-999: The message file for this utility (%) cannot be found CX-4.20-973: The Unicode table files cannot be found in the NLS directory or in the search path. Code Page: 88591 Country: 061 5. Running nwlogin from a root login via the non-graphical console screen results in this error message: LOGIN-4.12-283: This utility could not get the preferred Directory Services name or connection ID. Requirements for Installation of PTF3011 ---------------------------------------- 1. The NUC (NetWare UNIX Client) package must be installed. 2. PTF3011 isn't necessary if there are no users in one of the four locales that aren't supported in the SCO UnixWare Release 2.1 media. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf3011.Z and ptf3011.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf3011.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf3011 If you have questions regarding this SLS, or the product on which it is installed, please contact your software supplier.
