Installation Notes for IBM SCSI Extensions to SCO Xenix Operating System Release 2.3.2 for Computers based on Micro Channel Architecture Contents: IBM SCSI Extensions to SCO Xenix volume N1 (boot) IBM SCSI Extensions to SCO Xenix volume LINK Installation Notes (this document) Requires: SCO Xenix Operating System Release 2.3.2 or later Root hard disk to be configured as SCSI id 6 This N1 (boot) diskette replaces the N1 diskette supplied with your SCO Xenix Operating System Release 2.3.2 for Computers based on Micro Channel Architecture. 1. Start the installation by booting from the new N1 diskette. (IBM SCSI Extensions to SCO Xenix - volume N1) Follow the instructions as displayed on the screen. 2. Install the link kit via "etc/custom", this utility will be invoked automatically during the installation sequence. At the main custom menu enter "1" for Operating System. When the submenu is displayed choose "1" to Install one or more packages. If you wish to just install the link kit at this time enter LINK at the select prompt, otherwise you may choose ALL to install all the packages, or enter any subset of the choices available. The link kit must be installed at this time. 3. Before installing any software which requires the kernel to be relinked (e.g. Xenix-Net) install the SCSI Extensions volume "link" diskette via "/etc/custom". Select option 4 from the menu and insert the diskette (IBM SCSI Extensions to SCO Xenix - volume LINK) when prompted. Once you have installed the extensions diskette you should reboot the machine for the modifications to take effect. Other software packages requiring kernel relinks can now be installed.
