DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq is a convenient utility for cleaning the 
Windows Registry.  It automates a process that is very time-consuming 
if done manually.  Run it if you are experiencing system lockups, 
Illegal Operation errors, Fatal Exception errors, or random rebooting 
on any Compaq Presario PC.  

IMPORTANT:  Make sure that you save all open files and close all programs 
before running this program.  

The utility creates a backup of the portion of the registry that is cleaned 
in the file C:\Export.Reg.  To restore the previous settings if problems are 
encountered, double-click on this file and import it into the registry.
		
HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded, SP9400.EXE, is the actual program.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 

3. Read the Licensing Agreement and click on "OK".

4. Be sure to save any open files and exit all programs when prompted.  

5. Press "OK" to continue.  Windows will restart and Windows Plug-and-Play 
will detect various devices.   

6. Restart Windows again when prompted.

You may keep the program SP400.EXE for later use.
