DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq installs Compaq Advanced Power Management 
in the control panel of the Presario 2416ES.  By selecting the "Low"  
setting in Compaq Advanced Power Management, you prevent the PC 
from going into Sleep mode, which keeps it from dropping the network 
connection.  You also have the option of enabling Sleep mode by 
selecting the "High" setting.

The SoftPaq by default sets the Compaq Advanced Power Management setting 
to "Low."  With that setting, the PC does not go into Sleep mode when you 
press the Sleep button, select Suspend in the Start menu, or wait for the 
Sleep time out period to expire.  However, when the Sleep timer attempts 
to activate Sleep mode, the screen does blank out.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq file SP8727.EXE to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute SP8727.EXE and follow the on-screen instructions to install and 
configure the Compaq Advanced Power Management applet in the control panel. 

3. Restart the PC for the changes to take affect.
