CAUTION: You must TURN THE COMPUTER OFF before upgrading from this diskette. CAUTION: Simply REBOOTING to this diskette with the computer turned on may render CAUTION: your computer useless. CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE POWER DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS. Enhancements/Fixes: - Fixes potential power-up failure when the notebook is not connected to the AC adapter and a fresh battery is installed. - Improves battery performance by accurately measuring a battery charge when the battery has reached the 100% mark. HOW TO USE: 1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette. 4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2. 5. From Windows 95, SHUT DOWN the notebook to a POWERED OFF STATE. 6. Be certain that the computer is OFF. Insert the created ROM upgrade diskette in drive A: and turn on the computer, allowing the system to boot from the diskette. The ROM upgrade procedure starts automatically. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF THE COMPUTER DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS! 7. After the upgrade completes, shutdown the notebook again. Remove the battery and disconnect the notebook from A/C power.
