This problem does not cause any data loss or corruption. It may occur when a Presario computer has been upgraded to Windows 98 and is using an FX500 or FX700 monitor. Note: After upgrading to Windows 98, the treble and bass options in the volume control panel may not be accessible. If you experience that problem, download and run one of the following additional Softpaqs: For Presario desktop or minitower models, use SP7013. For Presario notebook models, use SP7012. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files. The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed. You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for the files, or default to the download directory. 3. After the files have been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 4. To install, run SETUP.EXE from the download directory. 5. After a successful installation is completed, you may delete the files created in step 2 if you wish. Copyright 1998, Compaq Computer Corporation. All rights reserved.
