SOFTPAQ NUMBER: SP6100 PART NUMBER: N/A FILE NAME: N/A TITLE: Y2K Fix For Server Management for Novell Products VERSION: 4.04 LANGUAGE: English CATEGORY: Systems/Drivers PRODUCTS AFFECTED: All Compaq ProSignia and ProLiant Servers with the Integrated Management Log. OPERATING SYSTEM: Novell NetWare 3.x intraNetWare 4.1x intraNetWare SMP 4.1x NetWare SFT-III 4.1x NetWare 5 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: N/A EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediate ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION ALLOWED: Yes SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION: 2.x SUPERSEDES: N/A DESCRIPTION: The Server Management Driver, CPQHLTH.NLM, has been updated to include a Y2K fix for repairing events in the Integrated Management Log (IML). The problem occurs for any event dated after the year 2000 that is repaired. When the event is repaired, the "update time" incorrectly stores the century (displays will show 19xx instead of 20xx). This problem only affects the Integrated Management Log event timestamp, which can be displayed by Compaq Insight Manager, the NetWare IML Viewer (CPQIML.NLM) or the Integrated Management Display. Though the timestamp includes the wrong century, this problem does not affect on any other component of the system. This version of CPQHLTH also includes a problem fix for Proliant 6500 Xeon servers. The problem occurs when a Proliant 6500 Xeon (with CPQHLTH.NLM loaded) was downed, the server would ABEND during the down process. This version of CPQHLTH.NLM, 4.04, supercedes previous versions. This driver will be included in version 5.02B or later of NSSD from Compaq. This SoftPAQ also includes an updated version of the Compaq Integrated Management Log Viewer for NetWare (CPQIML.NLM), which now displays 4-digit years (e.g. 1998 instead of 98). Although CPQIML correctly displays events occuring in years after 2000, many world-wide Y2K compliance efforts require that software displays 4-digit years in all cases. Earlier versions displayed only the last two digits of the year, while all four digits were used internally for sorting, masking, and exporting data. HOW TO USE: 1.
