To install it on Windows NT 3.51, you must upgrade to Service Pack 5. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: N/A EFFECTIVE DATE: 20 March 1998 ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION ALLOWED: Yes SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION: 3.1 SUPERSEDES: SP2891 DESCRIPTION: Contains installation files for an updated Windows NT driver for an LS-120 drive installed in a Deskpro computer. The LS-120 drive, which may be standard or optional equipment, is a 3.5-inch diskette drive that uses diskettes capable of storing up to 120-MB. This updated driver corrects problems caused by the original Windows NT LS-120 driver. The installation process requires over 1 MB of free hard drive space. If the installation files are then deleted, the driver takes up less than 15 KB of hard drive space. Enhancements/Fixes: - Modifies installation scripts to explicitly set the Disk class driver's time-out to 15 seconds. This prevents the LS-120 from causing a time-out condition during the portion of initialization that determines device ownership. - Fixes issue where LS-120 intermittently appears as a removable disk instead of a diskette drive. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the Softpaq number above. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory folder in the downloaded directory. All files are unpacked into this newly created directory. 3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 4. To install, execute SETUP.EXE in the created directory and follow on-screen instructions: \dcmnt\disk1\setup where is the drive and directory chosen in step 1 - or - a:\setup if using the optional installation diskettes Follow the on-screen instructions. 5. After installation is complete, you may delete the directory created in step 2 if you wish. Copyright 1998, Compaq Computer Corporation. All rights reserved.
