This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a self-extracting executable file. The self-extracting executable file contains Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 that supports the following subsystems and features of Compaq Professional Workstations: Gloria-L graphics controller Gloria-XL graphics controller Compaq Support Software Installation utility Enhancements/Fixes: For details, refer to NTREADME.HLP in the created support files. Gloria-L graphics controller Added support for an updated ELSA GLoria-L video driver. This driver contains improved buffer management for enhanced performance in OpenGL applications. A fix was also included in the GLoria display driver to prevent it from causing an erroneous SCSI error message to appear in the NT Event Log. The Compaq Professional Workstations that may use this driver are indicated in the section entitled Video Support for Compaq Professional Workstations in NTREADME.HLP. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files. The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed. You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for the files, or default to the download directory. The following files will be created: README.TXT ELSA.EXE 3. After the files have been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the self-extracting executable: ELSA.EXE [ENTER] 5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program SETUP.EXE to install the software.
