INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 
To create a bootable HP USB Flash Disk that can be used for the LSI SAS 
MegaRAID 8344ELP Firwmare Utility, complete the following steps: 

1. Download the SoftPaq file and extract the package contents to a known 
location on your hard drive.
Example: C:\swsetup\sp35758

NOTE: Files that are extracted in Step 1 are as follows:
- dos4gw.exe
- fls_sas.bat
- MegaCli.exe
- sasfw211.rom

2. Click Start, then click Run, and then type CMD in the Open box to open a 
Command window.

3. Navigate to the directory where the SoftPaq files were extracted.
Example: cd c:\swsetup\spx35758

4. Insert the USB flash drive (drive key) that you want to use to create the 
bootable media, and make a note of the drive letter that is assigned to it by 
Microsoft Windows and copy the files to the drive.

WARNING: Step 5 overwrites any existing data on the specified drive letter.

5. Create the bootable USB flash drive (drive key) by typing the following 
command:
mkusb :

6. Close the Command window.

7. Use the Microsoft Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" utility (in the system 
tray) to remove the USB Flash Drive from the computer. Using this utility 
ensures that the drive is synchronized before removal.

8. To use the LSI SAS MegaRAID 8344ELP Firwmare Utility, boot the workstation 
to the USB Flash Drive (drive key) that was created in Steps 1 through 7.

9. At the DOS prompt type:
`fls_sas.bat`

The updated script is executed and the new BIOS is installed.
