PREREQUISITES: None HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 3. To update the HP 3-in-1 NAS Docking Station firmware, complete Procedures 1 and 2 in the UPDATING THE HP 3-in-1 DOCKING STATION FIRMWARE section. UPDATING THE HP 3-in-1 DOCKING STATION FIRMWARE: To update the docking station firmware, complete Procedures 1 and 2, which follow. Procedure 1: 1. Open the NAS Configuration Utility by completing the following actions: a. Open your web browser. b. In the Address bar, type HTTP://"your_machine_name", where "your_machine_name" is the name you created during initial setup. c. Click the "Please click here to begin your HPNAS configuration" button. d. When prompted, supply your Administration User Name and Password. 2. Select Administration and then select Firmware. 3. Click Browse. 4. Locate and select the .nas file that was extracted from this SoftPaq, and then click Open. WARNING: To prevent damage to the docking station, do not remove power from the docking station while the upgrade is in progress. 5. Click Upgrade. This process may take several minutes. When the update is complete, a success message is displayed. 6. Continue to Procedure 2. Procedure 2: 1. If your web browser is still open, skip this step and proceed directly to Step 2. Otherwise, re-open the NAS Configuration Utility by completing the following actions: a. Open your web browser. b. In the Address bar, type HTTP://"your_machine_name", where "your_machine_name" is the name you created during initial setup. c. Click the "Please click here to begin your HPNAS configuration" button. d. When prompted, supply your Administration User Name and Password. 2. Select Administration and then select Firmware. 3. Click Browse. 4. Locate and select the .trx file that was extracted from this SoftPaq, and then click Open. WARNING: To prevent damage to the docking station, do not remove power from the docking station while the upgrade is in progress. 5. Click Upgrade. This process may take several minutes. When the update is complete, a success message is displayed. 6. Close your web browser and any open applications. 7. Power off the docking station by unplugging the power cord. Wait 10 seconds and re-apply power (plug the power cord back into the outlet). Allow 2-3 minutes before resuming normal use. NOTE: If you have previously enabled Pool Encryption (advanced feature), you must enter your pool encryption password on the Disk-Management - Basic web configuration page before you will be able to access any data on the drive.
