DESCRIPTION:  
This package contains the Intel PROSet Application for the listed systems,
adapters, and operating systems.

Intel PROSet is a wireless LAN application that replaces the default Microsoft
Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration service. Once Intel PROSet is installed,
it must be used to configure Intel wireless devices and to manage the wireless
network connection. Intel PROSet is required for users with the listed Intel
adapters in order to connect to wireless networks that use Cisco Compatible
Extensions. Users may also find Intel PROSet useful for advanced profile
management, single-sign-on support, and advanced diagnostics. Most home and
small office/home office (SOHO) users do not need this functionality. If
Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration service is desired again,
uninstall Intel PROSet and restart the notebook.

FIXES: 
The Intel PROSet 10.5 software (for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200, 2915, and 3945
Network Connections) provides the following fixes:
   - Now maintain the connection until the logoff process is complete to enable
     logoff scripts to run.
   - Fixes a non-secure use of shared memory that Intel identified as a security
     vulnerability.

The Intel PROSet 7.1.4.7 software for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN Adapter
provides the following fix:
   - Fixes a non-secure use of shared memory that Intel identified as a security
     vulnerability.

PREREQUISITES:  
- Download and install HP SoftPaq Number SP33400 (or later) titled, "Intel
  PRO/Wireless Drivers," Version 5.10 Rev A, before installing this SoftPaq.

HOW TO USE:  
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Restart the computer after installation.

NOTE: After the files are unpacked, the Setup program runs automatically. If
the setup program (Sinstall.exe) needs to be run manually, look for it in the
download directory.
