TITLE: HP PC Session Allocation Manager VERSION: 1.0.2 Rev. A DESCRIPTION: This software package contains the HP PC Session Allocation Manager (SAM) installation files. HP SAM serves as the control point in managing desktop session allocations in a Consolidated Client Infrastructure (CCI) deployment. Specifically, it manages the assignment of Microsoft Remote Desktop connections from a user's access device (client) to Remote Desktop sessions (blade PC). PURPOSE: Critical SOFTPAQ NUMBER: SP33342 SUPERSEDES: SP33182 EFFECTIVE DATE: July 17, 2006 CATEGORY: Software - Solutions SSM SUPPORTED: No PRODUCT TYPE(S): Desktops HARDWARE PRODUCT MODEL(S): HP bc1000: All Models HP bc1500 Blade PC: All Models SOFTWARE PRODUCT(S): None OPERATING SYSTEM(S): Microsoft Windows XP Professional LANGUAGE(S): US English ENHANCEMENTS: N/A FIXES: - Fixes issue where all user requests to connect to Blade PCs are denied for one to two hours when a synchronization operation is performed from the HP SAM Web server. During this synchronization activity, the HP SAM SQL database grows excessively and the SAM SQL server CPU runs at 100% usage. - Fixes issue where Blade PC usage data is inaccurately captured, resulting in incorrect Resource Capacity Consumption and Resource Capacity Consumption Trend reports. - Fixes issue where an occasional "user disconnected" message is falsely logged when a user connects to the Blade PC for the first time. - Fixes issue where duplicate entries for a single Blade PC are displayed on the Resource tab. When this issue occurs, one entry shows the Blade PC as "Offline." This issue typically occurs when a Blade PC is moved from one enclosure to another. Once this upgrade is successfully installed on all Blade PCs, all "Offline" resources listed on the Administrator Console\Resource tab should be deleted. - Fixes intermittent issue where Blade PC resources that are shut down or being rebooted are shown as "Available." - Fixes issue where the error message, "Your account cannot be assigned to any existing user roles," is generated when a user account is added to HP SAM through Active Directory nested level security groups. - Fixes issue where the serial ports cannot be used when "Redirect Drives" in the Administrator Console\Policies is set to the Force Off value. - Fixes issue where the HP SAM Administrator console displays log-on errors when the HP SAM server is registered in DNS with a NetBIOS name that is different from its Domain Name. - Fixes issue where it is not possible to connect to a Blade PC when the Blade PC is registered in DNS with a NetBIOS name that is different from its Domain Name.
