This package creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette that can be used to locally restore or upgrade the System BIOS in the listed notebook models with a 68DTT Family ROM. NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.

ENHANCEMENT(S):
- Adds support for 90-watt combination adapter.
- Improves thermal tables to minimize fan activity by changing the F10 Setup
Utility "Fan Always On on AC" option to run the fan at 20 percent power
instead of 40 percent power. (The recommended setting for this option is
"Enable.") This change slows down the fan Power-On and Power-Off to reduce
fan noise during a rapid temperature increase.

HOW TO USE:
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THE
PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS!

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Attach external USB diskette drive.

3. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

3. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. When
prompted, insert the formatted diskette into the diskette drive to
create the bootable diskette.

NOTE: After the diskette has been created, the SoftPaq .EXE file downloaded
in Step 3 can be deleted, if desired.

4. Power Off the notebook.

5. Make sure the newly created ROMPaq diskette is still in Drive A: and
Power On the notebook. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade the
System BIOS.
