This package contains a utility that enables the update of the System BIOS for 
the listed desktop models and operating systems. The System BIOS can be updated 
directly from within the Microsoft Windows environment, or a bootable diskette 
or DriveKey can be created.

HOW TO USE: 
WARNING: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPDATE PROCESS!

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file.

3. Copy the files that were extracted in Step 2 to the root level of a bootable 
diskette or disk. The default location for the files is 
C:\Compaq\SWSetup\SP32523.

4. Run the FLASH.BAT file that was copied in Step 3 to upgrade the BIOS.

NOTE: After the files have been unpacked, the .EXE file downloaded in Step 1 
can be deleted, if desired.
