HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. By 
default, the self-extracting file stores the drivers in the 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002 directory.


TO UPDATE THE DRIVER AND APPLICATION ON A WORKING SYSTEM:
Execute ''iata_enu.exe'' from the 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\Application 
directory.


TO INSTALL OPERATING SYSTEM ON A SATA RAID ARRAY:
Use the F6 Installation function to install the driver when installing 
Microsoft Windows or build a pre-installation image with the driver.

The drivers can be extracted from the self-extracting F6_Install.exe file. This 
extraction locates the files in 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\F6_Install\(Drivers or 
Docs).

The F6_Install.exe extracts the following files:
- iaAHCI.cat (9 KB)
- iaAHCI.inf (6 KB)
- iaStor.cat (8 KB)
- iaStor.inf (4 KB)
- iaStor.sys (806 KB)
- TXTSETUP.OEM (4 KB)

Copy these files to a diskette for installation when F6 is pressed during the 
operating system installation.


FOR A DATA SATA RAID ARRAY IMAGE:
1. Install the driver and application after you have the operating system on a 
different hard drive.

2. Install two SATA hard drives to the onboard SATA ports and enable the SATA 
RAID option ROM in the systems BIOS setup prior to booting to Windows.

3. Execute the following command:
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\Application\iata_enu.ex
e

The preceding command installs the Intel Matrix Storage Manager 5.6.2.1002 
32-bit driver and the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Application Console that 
configures and controls the SATA RAID arrays.


FOR AHCI USAGE WITH NATIVE COMMAND QUEUING (NCQ) DRIVES:
1. In the BIOS Setup Utility, check to ensure that SATA Emulation is set to 
AHCI, if not, set it to AHCI.
