INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. The 
self-extracting file stores the drivers in the 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002 directory.

3. To update the driver and application on a working system, execute the 
''iata_enu.exe'' from the 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\Application 
directory.


TO INSTALL OPERATING SYSTEM ON A SATA RAID ARRAY:
Install the driver using the F6 Installation function when installing Microsoft 
Windows or build a pre-installation image with the driver.

The drivers can be extracted from the self-extracting F6_Install.exe file. This 
will locate the files in the 
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\F6_Install\(Drivers or 
Docs) folder.

The F6_Install.exe extracts the following files:
- iaAHCI.cat (8 KB)
- iaAHCI.inf (5 KB)
- iaStor.cat (8 KB)
- iaStor.inf (4 KB)
- iaStor.sys (851 KB)
- TXTSETUP.OEM (3 KB)

The files in the preceding list should be copied to a diskette for installation 
when F6 is pressed during the operating system installation.

Select the Intel Matrix Storage Manager "RAID" controller.


TO INSTALL OPERATING SYSTEM ON A SATA DRIVE WITH NATIVE COMMAND QUEUING (NCQ) 
AND AHCI USAGE:
Install the driver using the F6 Installation function when installing Microsoft 
Windows or build a pre-installation image with the driver.

The files listed previously should be copied to a diskette for installation 
when F6 is pressed during the operating system installation.

In the BIOS Setup Utility, check to ensure that SATA Emulation is set to AHCI, 
if not, set it to AHCI.

Select the Intel Matrix Storage Manager "AHCI" controller.


FOR A DATA SATA RAID ARRAY IMAGE:
1. Install the driver and application after you have the operating system on a 
different hard drive.

2. Install two SATA hard drives to the onboard SATA ports and enable the SATA 
RAID option ROM in the systems BIOS setup prior to booting to Microsoft 
Windows.

3. Execute the following command:
C:\SWSETUP\Intel_Matrix_Storage_Manager-32bit_5.6.2.1002\Application\iata_enu.ex
e

The preceding command installs the Intel Matrix Storage Manager 5.6.2.1002 
32-bit driver and the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Application Console that 
configures and controls the SATA RAID arrays.
