DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the Broadcom Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Firmware 
Upgrade Tool for the listed desktop models and operating systems. 

The Broadcom TPM firmware upgrade tool supports a secure firmware upgrade, 
enabling an update both when there is endorsement key (EK) present or when 
there is no endorsement key present. When there is no EK, no authorization is 
required to complete the firmware upgrade. When there is an EK, a TPM owner 
must exist because the upgrade requires owner authorization.

This SoftPaq installs the following items:
- Broadcom TPM Firmware Upgrade Tool
- Security Platform Services TPM Device Driver Library

NOTE: For specifics about using this upgrade tool, see the following file in 
the download directory (the following location assumes the default location was 
accepted):
c:\swsetup\SP31876\fwupgrdtool.chm

For customer upgrades, this SoftPaq must be downloaded and installed prior to 
performing initialization of the TPM.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
- Provides the initial release of the software for the listed models.

PREREQUISITES: 
- The desktop must be configured with a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet 
(GbE) Controller.
- TPM must be unhidden and enabled (using the Setup Utility, which is accessed 
by pressing F10) BEFORE performing this TPM firmware upgrade. For TPM 
enablement instructions, see the F10 BIOS Setup Guide or the HP ProtectTools 
User Guide.
- The Broadcom TPM driver must be installed on the desktop BEFORE installing 
this SoftPaq.
- Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 (or later) (standard with HP images) must be 
installed on the desktop BEFORE installing this SoftPaq.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 
NOTE: To install this software, administrative rights are required.

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Restart the desktop to enable the new firmware.
