SOFTPAQ NUMBER: SP31663 PART NUMBER: N/A FILE NAME: SP31663.EXE TITLE: Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for HP ProLiant ML570 G3 Servers. VERSION: 4.03A LANGUAGE: English CATEGORY: ROMPaqs DIVISIONS: Systems PRODUCTS AFFECTED: HP ProLiant ML570 G3 OPERATING SYSTEM: ALL SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: N/A PREREQUISITE: N/A EFFECTIVE DATE: November 10, 2005 ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION ALLOWED: Yes SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION: 2.X SUPERSEDES: SP30876 DESCRIPTION: This release provides updated system ROM images for the latest maintenance releases of HP ProLiant ML570 G3 Servers. New Features - HP ProLiant ML570 G3 ROM P37 (10/25/2005) ============================================ 1) Added support for 64-bit Dual-Core Intel Xeon MP 7020 (2.66 GHz) and 7040 (3.0 GHz) processors. 2) Added support to automatically enable or disable the embedded legacy floppy controller based on whether a legacy floppy drive is installed. This prevents the controller from being enabled if a legacy floppy does not exist, which results in a warning message under certain operating systems while still allowing inserting a legacy floppy without having to enable the controller in the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU). Problems Fixed - HP ProLiant ML570 G3 ROM P37 (10/25/2005) ============================================ 1) Resolved issue which could result in intermittent server hangs using iLO virtual media. 2) Resolved an issue that may result in a server hang during POST when certain storage controllers are installed and more than 7 logical drive volumes are configured. This issue may occur on certain controllers, whether embedded or expansion card based, if 8 or more blank drives are attached to the controller. This issue will occur with, but is not limited to, the HP 8 Port SAS/SATA controller, HP Single-Channel U320 SCSI HBA G2 Controller, and HP 64-Bit/133 MHz PCI-X Dual-Channel U320 Controller. 3) Resolved issue with blue screens occurring during installation of certain non-English versions of Windows 2003 (the issue was observed with Spanish and Brazilian/Portuguese versions of Windows 2003 SP1) when not using SmartStart Assisted Install. 4) Resolved an issue with the Matrox Parahelia video card which could result in improper video operation. One symptom of the issue is that screen information may not be updated during POST. 5) Resolved issue with Q-Logic PCI-Express cards which could result in a system hang during POST. 6) Resolved an issue that could result in a system hang when booting media from certain IDE DVD drives.
