TITLE: ROMPaq for HP Notebook System BIOS (68DTH) – Linux-Based VERSION: F.08 DESCRIPTION: This package creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette or CD that can be used to locally restore or upgrade the System BIOS in the listed notebook models with a 68DTH Family ROM. NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information. FIXES: - Fixes issue where the local hard drive is not detected when the External USB hard drive is used to "Ghost" image. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Open the shell and run the following command to extract the package: tar xf spxxxx.tar 3. Use the following command to execute the package: sh spxxxx.sh 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create either a bootable diskette or a bootable CD. NOTE: After creating a bootable diskette or CD, the SoftPaq file downloaded in Step 1 can be deleted, if desired. 5. Power Off the notebook. 6. Place the newly created bootable diskette in Drive A, or place the bootable CD in the CD-ROM drive, and restart the notebook to update the system BIOS.
