DESCRIPTION:   This release provides updated system ROM images
               for the latest maintenance releases of HP
               BL25p/BL45p Servers.

        ProLiant BL25p/BL45p ROM A02 (08/31/2005)
        ============================================

                1) Added support for AMD Opteron 2.8 GHz single-core and AMD 
		   Opteron 2.4 GHz dual-core processors.




Problems Fixed -


        ProLiant BL25p/BL45p ROM A02 (08/31/2005)
        ============================================

                1) Added support for iSCSI adapters to be configured as the
		   boot controller in the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU).
		   Certain iSCSI adapters previously would not show up in the
		   boot controller menu in RBSU. 

		2) Resolved issue with sluggish performance when using Virtual
		   Serial Port with Linux.  HP had previously provided guidance
		   to Linux customers to perform "setserial /dev/ttyS0 irq 0"
		   if sluggish performance was observed.  This work-around is
		   no longer required with this upgraded System BIOS. 

		3) Resolved issue with blue screens occurring during installation
		   of certain non-English versions of Windows 2003 (the issue was
		   observed with Spanish and Brazilian/Portuguese versions of
		   Windows 2003 SP1) when not using SmartStart Assisted Install. 

		4) Resolved an issue where memory performance was not optimized 
		   for the BL45p when 3 or 4 physical processors is installed.  
		   This issue does not affect the BL25p.  Also, the issue 
		   does not affect the system if Node Interleaving is enabled. 



HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP31231.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP31231 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP31231.EXE if you wish.
