This Softpaq is used for local flashing via a floppy drive. Special Notes: 1) iLO firmware version 1.81 was recalled by HP. It should never be used and is not supported by HP. New features - 1) Power Regulator for ProLiant Power State reporting - Added a new Command Line Protocol command to return p-state information. P-State reporting was added to the web and scripting interface in the iLO 1.80 release. This feature is available with an iLO Advanced license and is supported on Power Regulator enabled servers running a System ROM dated 6/1/2005 or later. Command Syntax: CLP power regulator data module is located under /system1/powerreg_data The following example displays the property and target information of power regulator module by using “show –a” command. hpiLO-> show -a status=0 status_tag=COMMAND COMPLETED /system1/powerreg_data Targets pstate_data Targets processor1 Properties current_pstate=0 pstate0_avg=100.0 pstate1_avg=0.0 pstate2_avg=0.0 pstate3_avg=0.0 pstate4_avg=0.0 pstate5_avg=0.0 pstate6_avg=0.0 pstate7_avg=0.0 processor2 Properties current_pstate=0 pstate0_avg=0.0 pstate1_avg=0.0 pstate2_avg=0.0 pstate3_avg=0.0 pstate4_avg=0.0 pstate5_avg=0.0 pstate6_avg=0.0 pstate7_avg=0.0 Verbs cd version exit show Properties processor_number=2 pstate_number=1 Verbs cd version exit show Problems fixed since last release - 1) iLO no longer sends Option 54 in our DHCPREQUEST packet during the renewal phase. This problem was causing some DHCP servers not to honor lease renewal request. 2) iLO DHCP client now recognizes when its network cable is unplugged for more than 5 seconds. If this occurs, iLO will attempt to contact the DHCP Server that issued our current DHCP lease and renew that lease. If iLO is unsuccessful it will then attempt to contact any DHCP server and attempt to obtain a new lease. If that attempt is unsuccessful, iLO will bring its network stack down and attempt to obtain a new lease at 60s intervals. Versions 1.80 and earlier had to be rebooted in order to force iLO to obtain a new DHCP lease. 3) iLO will no longer respond to ICMP requests when it is in the process of obtaining a new lease from a DHCP server. Some DHCP servers can be configured to check for IP address conflicts by sending out ICMP echo requests to the IP address it is about to allocate to a new device. For this problem to occur, the DHCP server's ARP table had to have an entry for iLO, so the DHCP server did not need to ARP for iLO before sending out an ICMP echo request. iLO would then respond to these ICMP echo requests by sending an ICMP echo reply. This caused some DHCP servers to erroneously conclude the address it was about to allocate was in use and forcing it to issue a new IP address to iLO. 4) iLO will now properly use DNS servers it has been configured with to perform name resolution, even when not configured to register with a Dynamic DNS server. 5) When accessing text-only remote console through a telnet connection, the command sequence ESC ( now functions properly to return the user to the hpiLO-> prompt. 6) Corrected a potential vulnerability that could result in unauthorized access to the HP ProLiant DL585 server, but ONLY during the time when the server is powered down. HP is recommending that all ProLiant DL585 servers should be upgraded to the iLO 1.81 firmware release. As a result of this change, any work requiring the removal of the iLO security jumper must be performed with the server powered-on, as iLO will ignore the state of the security jumper while the server is powered-off. This change in behavior applies only to the ProLiant DL585 server. 7) Changed to properly detect the current web browser in use when browsing into iLO. iLO will now correctly identify the current web browser and inform the user what the supported version of their current browser is, if that browser is not a recommended version. Documentation - HP Integrated Lights-Out 1.80 User Guide and HP Integrated Lights-Out 1.70 Scripting and Command Line Resource Guide can be found by following the link at: http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/ilo/documentation.html New iLO 1.75/1.80 XML and CLP commands are detailed in the HP Integrated Lights-Out 1.70 Scripting & Command Line Resource Guide Addendum available at: http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/ilo/documentation.html HOW TO USE: 1. Obtain two formatted 1.44 MB diskettes. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP31148.EXE. 3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file: SP31148 [ENTER] You will be prompted to place each formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskettes. Be sure and note the first and second diskettes. 4. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP31148.EXE if you wish. 5. Insert the first diskette in drive A: and cold boot the system. The system will prompt you when the second diskette should be inserted. Copyright 2005 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
