TITLE:
Intel PROSet for Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection
VERSION:
4.00 REV: E
DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the Intel PROSet Application for the listed notebooks, adapters, and operating systems. Intel PROSet is a wireless LAN application that replaces the default Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration Service. Once Intel PROSet is installed, it must be used to configure Intel Wireless Devices and to manage the wireless network connection. Intel PROSet is required for use with the listed Intel adapters in order to connect to wireless networks that use Cisco Compatible Extensions. Users may also find Intel PROSet useful for advanced profile management, single-sign-on support, and advanced diagnostics. Most home and small office, home office (SOHO) users do not need this functionality. If Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration Service is required again, users should first uninstall Intel PROSet.

PREREQUISITES:
If the notebook is configured with an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 3B mini PCI
adapter, the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 network connection, or the Intel
PRO/Wireless 2915 network connection, download SoftPaq Number SP30762, "Intel
PRO/Wireless Drivers," Version 4.00 Rev E. SoftPaq SP30762 installs driver
version 1.2.4.35 for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 3B mini PCI adapter or driver
version 9.0.2.25 for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 or 2915 network connection.

HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard
drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen
instructions.

NOTE: After installation, Intel PROSet takes control of the Intel wireless
device. Intel PROSet must be used to configure and manage the Intel wireless
device. If Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration service is required
to configure and control the Intel wireless device (which is the default), then
do not install this package. If Microsoft Windows XP Windows Zero Configuration
service is required to control the Intel wireless device after Intel PROSet is
installed, uninstall the Intel PROSet software and restart the notebook.

NOTE: After the files are unpacked, the Setup program should run automatically.
If the setup program (sinstall.exe) needs to be run manually, look for it in
the download directory.
