PREREQUISITES: - Earlier versions of the Altiris Local Recovery software should be uninstalled before installing this SoftPaq (highly recommended). NOTE: The new version of the Altiris Local Recovery software can be installed without removing previous versions; however, it is highly recommended that any previous version of the ALR software be uninstalled by using the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel before installing this new version of ALR. By uninstalling previous ALR versions first, when this new version is installed, it ensures that a good, clean backup image is created. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the ALR program files and to place the ALR icon in the Start menu. NOTE: The preceding steps do not install the ALR program. To install ALR, click Start, then click All Programs, and then select "Install Altiris Local Recovery." You are prompted with a brief tutorial that explains the ALR product. From the tutorial, you can either exit or continue the installation.
