The DAAD is a DOS-based tool for Compaq products with a Smart SCSI Array Controller using Fast-SCSI-2 drives. The two main functions of DAAD are to collect all possible information about the array controllers in the system and generate a list of detected problems. This data can then be saved to a file for analysis. In most cases, DAAD will provide enough information to initiate problem resolution immediately. Enhancements: - Added support for the System Partition Upgrade Utility (SPUU). - Added ability to accomodate longer controller names in the windows of the System View screen. - Moved controller graphic up so that its card edge was visible on System View screen. - Added /E and /P strings to SMART-2 controllers to differentiate between EISA and PCI versions. - Added support for SMART-2SL controllers. - Added reporting on SIMM state. - Added reporting of Ultra SCSI Drives and S.M.A.R.T.. - Added reporting of Interrupt Count and Ultra Bus Faults to SCSI Bus Data. - Added reporting of Predictive Failure Errors to Monitor & Performance Data. HOW TO USE: 1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette. 4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 1. 5.
