SP1 DESCRIPTION: The HP Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack Critical Update fixes the following issues: VPM Acquisition is unable to acquire Microsoft patches MS05-025 through MS05-034 released on 6/14/05. VPM reports errors as a result of unexpected data contained in Microsoft's meta data feed. You will see one of the following errors in your patch-acquire.log when you acquire patches with VPM or import from a new VPM Acquisition Utility repository. Installing this update will shutdown background VPM services. In the situation where VPM and HP SIM are installed on separate servers, this SoftPaq must be applied to the VPM server. This SoftPaq must also be applied to the system where the VPM Acquisition Utility is installed. If VPM or the VPM Acquisition Utility are reinstalled, this SoftPaq will need to be applied again. In the situation where VPM and HP SIM are installed on separate servers, this SoftPaq must be applied to the VPM server. 4.
