PREREQUISITES: - System Software Manager HOW TO USE: NOTE: To flash the System BIOS on a target notebook in a network, the System BIOS image must be used with remote management software, such as SSM. 1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq .EXE file to the file store. Resetting System Defaults After upgrading the BIOS, you must restore system settings to the original default settings. To do this, complete the following steps: 1. Access system setup by pressing F10 when the HP logo is displayed during system startup (boot). 2. Use the keyboard arrow keys to move left or right to highlight "File" in the main menu bar. 3. When the File menu is displayed, scroll down to highlight “Restore defaults” and press Enter. Then press F10 to confirm the change. 4. Press F10 again, and then press Enter to "Save changes and exit." 5. When prompted to "Save Changes," press F10 again to restart the system.
