TITLE: HP Compaq Business Desktop System BIOS (786C1 BIOS)

DESCRIPTION:
This package contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the 
system BIOS on the listed desktop models with a 786C1 BIOS.

Several methods for changing the BIOS version may be chosen. Included in this 
package are the following methods:
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore diskette.
- Use HPQFlash to upgrade the BIOS directly in a Microsoft Windows 
environment.
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore CD.

This package can be used with SSM, HPCMS, or PXE management software for remote 
updating of the BIOS.

NOTE: To determine the BIOS family and BIOS date, press F10 on the target 
computer during system Power On to run the Setup Utility, and then select 
File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In 
order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the device 
must be attached before the computer is Powered On.

NOTE: For HP Compaq Business Desktop dc7100 Convertible Minitower, HP Compaq 
Business Desktop dc7100 Small Form Factor, and HP Compaq Business Desktop 
dc7100 Ultra Slim Desktop models, this SoftPaq, BIOS Version 2.14, is a web and 
factory release for Intel 600 Series Processors.

For HP Compaq Business Desktop dx6100 Microtower and HP Compaq Business Desktop 
dx6100 Slimtower models, BIOS Version 2.14 is a new factory release that will 
be shipped on new models, replacing BIOS version 1.57 in the factory.
