TITLE: NVIDIA Graphics Driver (AMD64/EM64T) for Linux Workstations VERSION: 6634 Rev. 1 DESCRIPTION: This package contains the NVIDIA (AMD64/EM64T) accelerated graphics driver for the listed workstation models and Linux operating systems. IMPORTANT: There is a known issue with this installation package where the program erroneously reports errors when installing this SoftPaq on the HP xw9300 Workstation. We expect to correct this issue with the next driver release. If you are installing this SoftPaq on an HP xw9300 Workstation, you may see messages indicating that the installation program encountered errors. If this occurs, please follow the instructions and restart (reboot) the workstation. After restarting, the workstation should initialize to the graphical desktop manager. Please check the output of the command 'glxinfo' to be certain that you are running the accelerated NVIDIA driver. If you discover that your workstation is not running the accelerated NVIDIA driver or if your workstation does not initialize to the graphical login prompt, please contact your HP Customer Service Representative for assistance. To check for existing NVIDIA packages, at the prompt type: 'rpm -qa | grep nv' 2. Remove any previous package. For example, at the prompt type: 'rpm -e nvidia-6634-1.2.x86_64.rpm' 3. To install the new package, at the prompt type: 'rpm -ivh nvidia-6633-1.4.x86_64.rpm' NOTE: The previous steps install the package file on the workstation, but they do not configure the new driver. 4. Configure the new package by executing the following script: '/opt/hp/graphics/nvidia/configure' NOTE: Step 4 places/builds and configures the NVIDIA accelerated graphics module. It also moves any current XF86Config file aside and puts a standard NVIDIA file in place.
