TITLE: HP Blade PC System BIOS (786C0 BIOS)

DESCRIPTION:
This package contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the 
system BIOS (786C0 BIOS) on the HP Blade PC bc1000.

The folders included with in this package provide several methods for changing 
the BIOS version on your computer. Each folder includes self-contained files to 
perform the BIOS update. Any unwanted folders may be deleted.

Tools and appropriate BIOS images are contained in each of the directories 
(folders) as follows:

DOS Flash - DOS utility that can be used locally or with a Preboot eXecution 
Environment (PXE) management application to update or restore the system BIOS. 


ROMPaq CD - Creates a bootable CD that can be used to locally restore or update 
the system BIOS. No backup of the current system BIOS is made.

ROMPaq Diskette - Creates a bootable 1.44 diskette that can be used to locally 
restore or update the system BIOS. A backup of the current system BIOS image is 
copied onto the ROMPaq diskette during the update process. If desired, this 
backup BIOS image on the ROMPaq diskette can be used to restore the system BIOS 
to its original version.

This package can also be used with the following methods for updating the 
system BIOS:

System Software Manager (SSM) - Use this package with SSM to update the system 
BIOS on target computers on a network. In this case, place the SoftPaq .EXE 
file in your SSM Filestore folder and then update the database. SSM is a free 
utility provided by HP. For information about SSM, visit: 
http://www.compaq.com/im/change/ssmwp.html.

HP Client Manager Software - Use this package with HP Client Manager Software 
(HPCMS) and Altiris Notification Server to remotely target, distribute, and 
update the system BIOS on network computers. In this case, place this SoftPaq 
.EXE file in your HPCMS Filestore folder and then update the database. HPCMS is 
a free management application provided by Altiris and HP. For more information

NOTE: To determine the BIOS family and BIOS date, press F10 on the target 
computer during system Power On to run the Setup Utility, and then select 
File/System Information. This information can be saved to a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting ''File/Save to Diskette.'' 
In order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the 
device must be attached before the computer is Powered On.
