VERSION: 6634 Rev. 1
DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the NVIDIA (AMD64/EM64T) accelerated graphics driver for
the listed workstation models and Linux operating systems.

IMPORTANT: There is a known issue with this installation package where the
program erroneously reports errors when installing this SoftPaq on the HP
xw9300 Workstation. We expect to correct this issue with the next driver
release.

If you are installing this SoftPaq on an HP xw9300 Workstation, you may see
messages indicating that the installation program encountered errors. If this
occurs, please follow the instructions and restart (reboot) the workstation.

After restarting, the workstation should initialize to the graphical desktop
manager. Please check the output of the command 'glxinfo' to be certain that
you are running the accelerated NVIDIA driver.

If you discover that your workstation is not running the accelerated NVIDIA
driver or if your workstation does not initialize to the graphical login
prompt, please contact your HP Customer Service Representative for assistance.

HOW TO USE:
NOTE: To complete the installation, you must be the ROOT user with no X-server
running (init 3).

1. To check for existing NVIDIA packages, at the prompt type:
'rpm -qa | grep nv'

2. Remove any previous package. For example, at the prompt type:
'rpm -e nvidia-6634-1.2.x86_64.rpm'

3. To install the new package, at the prompt type:
'rpm -ivh nvidia-6633-1.4.x86_64.rpm'

NOTE: The previous steps install the package file on the workstation, but they
do not configure the new driver.

4. Configure the new package by executing the following script:
'/opt/hp/graphics/nvidia/configure'

NOTE: Step 4 places/builds and configures the NVIDIA accelerated graphics
module. It also moves any current XF86Config file aside and puts a standard
NVIDIA file in place.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: Refer to the documentation provided in
'/opt/hp/graphics/nvidia' for more information about this package, advanced
installation options, and more sample XF86Configuration files and options.
