DESCRIPTION:
This package contains the System BIOS image (BIOS Family 786B7) and local and 
remote BIOS flash utilities for the HP Workstation xw6200. System BIOS is 
operating system independent.

The BIOS family and BIOS date can be determined by pressing F10 on the target 
workstation during system Power On to run the Setup Utility, and then selecting 
File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In 
order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the device 
must be attached before the workstation is Powered On.

ENHANCEMENTS: 
- Adds support for the Intel Xeon Processor with 2 MB of Level 2 (L2) Cache.
- Upgrades the microcode updates for all supported Intel Xeon Processors.
- Provides improved fan control on dual-processor workstations.
- Adds option to enable ''Fast Delayed Transaction Timer'' in Computer Setup 
Utility (F10).
- Adds option to set ''Full Speed Chassis Fans'' in Computer Setup Utility 
(F10). 
- Adds support for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Large-Scale Deployment (LSD).
- Improves PCI memory allocation. This typically increases the available system 
memory for Windows XP by 128 to 256 MB on a workstation with 4 GB of system 
memory installed.

FIXES: 
- Fixes a PCI bus enumeration issue that occurs when multiple bridges are 
installed.
- Fixes issue with ''Save to Diskette'' operation in Computer Setup Utility 
(F10).
- Fixes multi-processor System Management Mode (SMM) initialization code issue. 
This prevents a rare operating system crash when resuming from Hibernate mode 
on workstations with two processors when hyperthreading is enabled.
- Fixes issue with unusually slow legacy USB transfer speeds, including USB 
diskette drives and USB flash drives.
- Fixes PS/2 keyboard operation issue with ACPI-based Linux kernels.

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to update 
the System BIOS.

3. If remote flashing is needed, refer to the remote utility documentation for 
instructions about creating a Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on 
target workstations on the network. 

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPGRADE PROCESS!
