ENHANCEMENTS:
Enhancements applicable to workstations having System BIOS version 1.04:
- Deploys updated processor microcode from Intel.
- Adds an option to enable/disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) mode in F10
Setup.
- Changes default speed for PCI slots to "auto" in F10 Setup.

Enhancements applicable to workstations having System BIOS version 1.05:
- Adds ASF 1.0 support (alerts and remote control via network controller).
- Adds "Lock Legacy Resources" option in Computer Setup Utility (F10). When
unlocked, the operating system can override the Setup password to modify
assignments for serial and parallel ports. It is locked by default.
- Adds SERR/NMI generation on chipset/PCI errors.
- Enables Thermal Monitoring 2(TM2) for E0-stepping processors that support
this capability.

Enhancements applicable to workstations having System BIOS version 1.06:
- Adds support for non-RAID onboard SCSI. This decreases boot time for
workstations that do not need RAID functionality.
- Adds option for Onboard SCSI Latency Timer in Computer Setup Utility (F10).
- Adds options for PXH A and B Secondary Latency Timers in Computer Setup
Utility (F10).
- Adds option to enable "Peer-to-Peer Reads" in Computer Setup Utility (F10).
- Adds option to enable "Fast Delayed Transaction Timer" in Computer Setup
Utility (F10).
- Adds option to set "Full Speed Chassis Fans" in Computer Setup Utility (F10).

- Improves fan control on dual-processor workstations.
- Adds support for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Large-Scale Deployment (LSD).

FIXES:
Fixes applicable to workstations having System BIOS version 1.04 or 1.05:
- Enables mixing of D0- and E0-stepping processors in a dual-processor system;
the D0 processor must be the boot processor (CPU1, top position).
- Changes some Setup menu items to ensure that each string is unique.
- Fixes the interrupt declaration for the onboard network controller in the MPS
table (used by Linux).
- Updates the fan-control algorithm.
- Fixes memory reporting and caching on configurations with 8 GB (or more) of
memory.
- Enables support of NVIDIA Quadro FX540 and FX1400 graphics cards.
- Changes the internal interrupt routing to prevent a potential condition where
the workstation stops responding (hangs).
- Updates the PCI configuration code to use smaller memory ranges.
- Sets the "max payload size" field on PCI Express cards to 256 bytes.

Fixes applicable to workstations having System BIOS version 1.06:
- Fixes a rare condition where the SCSI controller does not initialize when
resuming from Hibernate mode (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)
S4).
- Corrects an error in the amount of memory displayed when 16 GB of memory is
installed.
- Fixes issue with "Save to Diskette" operation in Computer Setup Utility
(F10).

HOW TO USE:
1. Download and extract the .TGZ file. For example, to extract the contents, at
console prompt type (where "filename" is replaced by the name of the file to be
extracted):
"tar -xzvf filename.tgz"

This command extracts files to a directory with the same name as the specified
"filename."

2. Refer to the README text file provided for further information about
creating a bootable diskette and flashing the system BIOS.
