This package creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette that can be used to locallyrestore or upgrade the System BIOS in the listed notebook models witha 68BAS Family ROM. NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target notebookduring startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.

ENHANCEMENTS:
- Adds new Intel On-Screen Branding (OSB) logo.
FIXES:
- Fixes issue with the wireless option changing from DISABLE to ENABLE if the
notebook was Powered Off while in the F10 Setup menu.
- Corrects misspelled words in French and Portuguese language in the F10 Setup
menu.
- Fixes issue with unnecessary blank spaces trailing after serial number.

HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Open shell and run the following command to open the package:
tar xf spxxxx.tar

3. Use the following command to execute the package:
sh spxxxx.sh

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create either a bootable diskette
or CD.

5. After creating a bootable diskette or CD, the SoftPaq .EXE file downloaded
in Step 1 can be deleted, if desired.

6. Power Off the notebook.

7. Place the newly created bootable diskette in Drive A, or place the bootable
CD in the CD-ROM drive and restart the notebook to update the system BIOS.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
