DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the 
system BIOS on the listed HP Compaq Thin Client models (786R1 BIOS).

Several methods for changing the BIOS version on your computer may be chosen. 
Included are various ways to perform the update. Each folder provided has 
self-contained files to perform the BIOS update and any unwanted folders may be 
deleted.

Tools and appropriate BIOS images are contained in each of the directories, as 
follows:

-- DOS Flash - DOS utility that can be used locally or with a Preboot eXecution 
Environment (PXE) management application to update or restore the system BIOS.

-- WFlash - Windows-based utility to locally update the system BIOS on 
individual computers operating in a Microsoft Windows environment.

-- CEFlash - CE.net-based utility to locally update the system BIOS on 
individual computers operating in a Microsoft CE.net environment.

-- LFlash - Linux-based utility to locally update the system BIOS on individual 
computers operating in a Linux environment.

-- Flash Diskette - Creates a bootable 1.44-MB diskette that can be used to 
locally restore or update the system BIOS.

The BIOS Family and BIOS date can be determined by pressing F10 on the target 
computer during system startup to run the Setup Utility, and then selecting 
System Information.

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPGRADE PROCESS!
