DESCRIPTION:
This package contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the 
system BIOS on the listed HP Compaq Business Desktop dc5000 and HP Compaq 
Business Desktop dx2000 models with a 786B0 BIOS.

Several methods for changing the BIOS version are included in this package. 
Choose from the following methods:
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore diskette
- Upgrade the BIOS directly in the Microsoft Windows environment using the 
HPQFlash utility
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore CD

This package has the ability to be used with SSM, HPCMS, or PXE management 
software for remote updating of the BIOS.

NOTE: To determine the BIOS family and BIOS date, press F10 on the target 
computer during system Power On to run the Setup Utility. Then select 
File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In 
order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the computer, the device 
must be attached before the computer is Powered On.

NOTE: This is a specialized web release only and should NOT be used by most 
customers. It is recommended that users update to this version only if they 
need to resolve the specific PXE issue listed in the FIXES section below. The 
version 1.50 BIOS is a web release only for all supported platforms and will 
not replace the current production BIOS.

FIXES: 
- Adds new PXE ROM Version 7.0.4, which fixes a Multicast MAC address filter 
problem in the PXE code that could cause intermittent lockups with some network 
imaging software.

IMPORTANT: Due to the increased size of the new PXE image, users with certain 
video cards containing a large video BIOS image may receive the following error 
after installing this BIOS: 

"110 - Out of memory for option ROMs"

If you require this PXE update and get the out of memory error after updating 
your BIOS, you may be able to work around this error by making the following 
setting selections in F10 Setup: 

Advanced / Power-On Options / ACPI/USB Buffers @ Top of Memory = Enable

Making this change to the buffers may not work for some configurations.
