DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the 
system BIOS on the hp workstation xw6000 models with a 686O4 BIOS.

Several methods for changing the BIOS version on your computer may be chosen. 
Included are the various ways to perform the update. Each folder provided has 
self-contained files to perform the BIOS update and any unwanted folders may be 
deleted.

More information on the specific update tools is available in the "How to Use" 
text file as well as in the README files in each folder.

This Softpaq can be used with the following methods of updating the system 
BIOS:
- DOS Flash
- HPQFlash
- ROMPaq CD
- ROMPAq Diskette
- SSM 
- HP Client Manager Software

The BIOS Family and BIOS date can be determined by pressing F10 on the target 
computer during system power on to run the Setup Utility, and then selecting 
File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a 
diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In 
order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the device 
must be attached before the computer is turned on.

HOW TO USE: 
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded 
is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number 
above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions to unpack the 
files to folders within the download directory.

3. Select the flash utility you wish to use and follow the instructions 
provided in the README file in the appropriate folder.
