- This package is ONLY for RedHat 7.3 Linux running kernel 2.4.18-26.7.x. 

NOTE: This package will NOT work for any other kernel or OS version. The source 
RPM is provided by GPL license, and as a convenience to build manually against 
other kernel versions.


HOW TO USE: 
1. Download and unpack the TAR archive by using 'tar -xvf 
aic79xx-2.0.2-2.4.18_26.7.x.tar' 

2. Install the binary rpm, aic79xx-2.0.2-2.4.18_26.7.x.i386.rpm using the 
RedHat Package Manger. To do this, with root privilages, type at a console 
prompt:

'rpm -qva | grep aic'  to find out if you already have a version of the aic79xx 
driver installed.  If you do, use:
 
'rpm -Uvh aic79xx-2.0.2-2.4.18_26.7.x.i386.rpm'

otherwise use:

'rpm -ivh aic79xx-2.0.2-2.4.18_26.7.x.i386.rpm'


3. Verify /etc/modules.conf is updated with 'scsi_hostadapter' aliases 
referencing the aic79xx_2_0_2 driver module. 

4. Reboot your machine to begin using the updated driver.
