PREREQUISITES: This driver version (4498) is essentially driver version (4496) but with specific fixes and adjustments to run on RedHat Enterprise Linux 3. You must be ROOT user with no X-server running (init 3). 2. Check for existing nvidia packages, at prompt type: 'rpm -qa | grep nv' 3. Remove any previous package, for example: 'rpm -e nvidia-2.4.18.26.7.x_4496-1.i386.rpm' 4. Install the new package: 'rpm -ivh nvidia-4498-7.i386.rpm' NOTE: This will install the package file onto the system, but does not configure the new driver. 5. Configure the new package by executing script: '/opt/hp/graphics/nvidia/configure' NOTE: This will place/build, and configure the nVIDIA accelerated graphics module. **It will also move aside any current XF86Config file and put a standard nVIDIA one in place.
