This set of files is an electronic update of the Network Server Adapters and Upgrade Modules Software and Documentation CD that came with the server adapter. ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: This release contains online PXE and Bootcode flash utilities for Windows and Linux OSs that allow the update of PXE and bootcode within the native OS without rebooting to DOS. The drivers in this release no longer support Netelligent/NetFlex/TLAN NICs. The Linux bonding driver in this release does not support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3. The Linux bcm5700 driver in this release now builds on an SLES 7 base kernel. The Linux e100 and e1000 driver text files in this release were updated for better understandability. The Windows Q57 drivers fix a problem that can occur when transmitting highly fragmented pieces of data such as those used by Oblix and Java. The DOS drivers in this release now support RFC1071 which allows you to communicate with a nother NIC that is calculating TCP checksums based on RFC1071. This release resolves an issue with previous versions of the drivers where communication might hang or disconnect before completion HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 1. 4. Use these files to update or install the adapter drivers and associated documentation. (c)Copyright 2004 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
