Driver versions 5.8.2.32 and 5.6.2.64 support the 32-bit and 64-bit varieties of Windows Server 2003 respectively. However, management utilities such as Insight Manager and the Array Configuration Utility are not supported by these drivers. Therefore, if you require management functionality while the system is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you should not install these drivers. Please read all of the release notes before installing the drivers. Enhancements/Fixes: Added support for Smart Array 64x and 640x Controllers. Enable prefetching with Smart Array 64x/640x firmware 1.92 and later. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq. The SoftPaq will automatically extract the files to the current directory. 3. You may now delete the SoftPaq from your hard drive. 4. Copy the resultant files and directories to a diskette and label it "Smart Array Controllers Non-Miniport Drivers for Microsoft Windows Server 2003". INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Installing the Smart Array Controllers Non-Miniport Drivers is a two step process. The controller device driver must be installed first, followed by the disk device driver. It is recommended that you start with the controller with the smallest number of logical drives. Once the disk driver is installed for all logical drives on the first controller, the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Plug-and-Play Manager will automatically install it for logical drives on subsequent controllers that are changed to use the controller device driver.
