TITLE: USB 2.0 Update for Windows XP VERSION: 1.00 Rev C DESCRIPTION: This replaces the USB 2.0 driver for the models listed below running Windows XP. It fixes a number of issues explained in the FIXES section below. PURPOSE: Routine Release SOFTPAQ NUMBER: SP25335 SUPERSEDES: None EFFECTIVE DATE: September 26, 2003 CATEGORY: Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Device SSM SUPPORTED: Yes PRODUCT TYPE(S): Workstations PRODUCT MODEL(S) HP Workstation xw3100: All Models HP Workstation xw4100: All Models HP Workstation xw6000: All Models HP Workstation xw8000: All Models OPERATING SYSTEM(S): Microsoft Windows XP Professional LANGUAGE(S): Global FIXES: - Provides fixes for the following issues: - You may not be able to use a USB mouse (or wake the computer with the USB mouse) after suspending or hibernating the computer while continuously moving the USB mouse. NOTE: When this problem occurs, you can still wake the computer with the power button without any loss of functionality. Generally, it is best practice not to move the USB mouse until the computer has completed the suspend or hibernate operation even after this update is applied. - The computer automatically restarts instead of resuming from hibernation, or it displays a serious error (STOP 0x000000A in Usbport.sys). - The USB 2.0 controller does not enter the selective suspend mode. Because of this behavior, the processor cannot enter a C3 (Clock-Stopped) power state after you disconnect a device from the USB 2.0 hub that is connected to a USB EHCI controller.
