DESCRIPTION:

This  Softpaq  creates  HP Solaris Driver Update  (DU) Diskette 
for  Third Generation Array Controllers. 

CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Added support for the following controllers in Third generation
array controllers driver "cpqary3" ver 1.20:

	*  Smart Array 641 Controller.
	*  Smart Array 642 Controller.
	*  Smart Array 6400 Controller.
	*  Smart Array 6400 EM Controller.
		
HOW TO USE:

1. Download the  Softpaq file SP24927.EXE  to  an empty directory on  
   a Microsoft Windows system

2. From that directory, execute the Softpaq file:
   
        SP24927 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

        QRST5.EXE
        Sol9duus._01
        SP24927.TXT

3. Obtain 1 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the Driver Update (DU) diskette, run QRST5  and  follow
   the on-screen instructions.

5. After the Driver Update (DU) diskette is created, you may delete
   the downloaded file SP24927.EXE and the other files created in that directory
   if you wish.

6. The Driver Update (DU) Diskette have the  following  Readme Files :
   README.TXT - This file can be best viewed under non-unix  Operating
		System.
   ureadme    - This file can be best viewed under  Solaris  Operating
		System.
                Use the following commands to  view  ureadme  file  on
		Solaris Operating System.
		Check to see if Volume Management is running 
		# ps -ef | grep vold
		If Volume Management is running stop the same.
		# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop 
                Insert  the  Driver  Update  (DU)  diskette  into  the
		diskette drive.
                Mount the Driver  Update (DU)  diskette  at  the  /mnt
		mount point:
		# mount -F pcfs /dev/diskette  /mnt
		Move to /mnt mount point.
		# cd /mnt
		Use vi command to open the ureadme file.
		# vi ureadme
   These README.TXT and ureadme files on Driver Update (DU)  diskette,
   describes the procedure to load the Driver  Update  (DU)  diskette.

Third Generation Smart  Array  Controllers  driver, "cpqary3", version 
1.20 supports  the  following Third Generation  Array Controllers:

*  Smart Array 5300 Controller
*  Smart Array 5i Controller
*  Smart Array 532 Controller

*  Smart Array 641 Controller.
*  Smart Array 642 Controller.
*  Smart Array 6400 Controller.
