It should be used with the version 1.0.1 ProLiant BL p-Class GbE2 Interconnnect Switch boot image to ensure correct operation and behavior. Enhancements/Fixes: This updated firmware corrects these and other issues: - Setting port path cost = 0 is defined to assign the default path cost for that port, instead it sets path cost to 1. - Certain HP SNMP MIB variables are not instantiated by the switch agent. This results in IM7 not being able to identify a GbE2 Interconnect switch in the rack view. - The switch does not update rack location after a soft reset. - The switch does not save a telnet port value other than the default value (23). - A MMU soft reset error message displays when running broadcast and multicast traffic. The following messages display on the CLI console via serial port. [_interrupt_thread]UNIT 0 SCHAN ERROR: V=1 SRC=13 DST=15 OPCODE=20(MEM_FAIL_NOTIFY) ERRCODE=66 [_interrupt_thread]UNIT 0 SCHAN ERROR: MMU soft reset [_interrupt_thread]UNIT 2 SCHAN ERROR: V=1 SRC=13 DST=15 OPCODE=20(MEM_FAIL_NOTIFY) ERRCODE=66 [_interrupt_thread]UNIT 2 SCHAN ERROR: MMU soft reset - Initiating a gtimg (firmware download) command from a telnet session can result in a switch panic, which displays the message ”PANIC at mpmain.c:1031 in thread 6" on the console. The GbE2 Interconnect Switch will automatically reboot. - The SAN mismatch LED does not correctly identify mismatched SAN hardware. HOW TO USE: Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your target computer. The SoftPaq is a .tgz file with a file name based on the SoftPaq Number. Run this command to extract the files from the .tgz file: tar -zxvf *.tgz Place the firmware image file (*.bin) on a TFTP server that is network-accessible from the switch you wish to update. Use the switch's command line interface (CLI) to update the firmware. Alternately, the switch's serial console may be used to update the firmware. See the switch's User Guide for detailed instructions. Refer to the Softpaq README file for installation instructions and firmware information.
