DESCRIPTION:   This release provides updated system ROM images
for the latest maintenance releases of ProLiant DL740 Server products.

 Problems Fixed - 
  
		  	   ProLiant DL740 ROM P47 (06/19/03)
		       ========================================
			   Fixed problem with overlapping IOAPIC Local APIC IDs.

               Ensure all DIMMs meet minimum PC100 spec.

               Fixed a problem with the way the BIOS handling Processor fail.

               Fixed a problem with ILO driver having problem
               with capturing port 84h.

               Fixed the problem with lowest stepping processor
               is not always the Boot SP.

               Fixed a problem Windows 2003 Italian version  -
               C:\ start /d" C:\programi\HP\Smartstart default.htm command showing
               up at 1st system reboot (right after the installation complete.)

               System hangs with "IIegal Opcode" or blank screen when running system
               reboot test with USB keyboard plugged in.

               No longer mark processors failed if the processor speed is not
               supported.

               Windows 2000 Server and Advance Server "Restart" option hangs for system
               with 8 processors.  The fix is to limit maximum 8 processors support
               with hyperthreading on for all Windows 2000 servers.
											
HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP24800.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP24800 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP24800.EXE if you wish.
