This corrects an issue with no VGA initialization occuring during EFI boot using a direct DVI digital monitor connection. Make sure you have moved the graphics device to an x86 system; the following directions assume you have moved the graphics card to an x86 system. You must follow directions in the Technical Guide (zx2000) or Operations and Maintenance Guide (zx2000) to uninstall the card from your system and put this card in a x86 system to perform the video BIOS update proceedure. These instructions are under "Installing or Replacing Parts and Accessories"->"Removing and replacing internal components"->"Accessory and graphics cards" in either of these manuals. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq number SP. 3. Insert a blank 1.44MB floppy diskette in drive A:. This diskette will be erased by the SoftPaq. Before proceeding, make certain the diskette is not write protected, does not contain viruses, and does not contain data or critical files. 4. Execute the downloaded SoftPaq file and follow the on-screen instructions to create the video BIOS update diskette. 5. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 6. To install the video BIOS update: Insert the floppy diskette in drive A: and reboot the workstation to be updated. The system will boot from the diskette. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions. 8. Once the video BIOS update is complete, remove the diskette and cycle power to the system. 9. After the update has been performed and you have verified the video BIOS update was successful, make sure the x86 system is powered-off, remove the graphics card and replace it in the Itanium-2 system following the instructions in your manual as described in step 1. above.
