TITLE: Microsoft Windows 2000 Intelide.sys Fix for ICH4 Drive Swapping Lockup Issue VERSION: 1.0 Rev A DESCRIPTION: This fixes a problem under Windows 2000 on a computer with an Intel ICH4 southbridge. The driver that is used for the IDE controller may be the generic Pciide.sys driver instead of the correct Intelide.sys driver. If the computer has hot-swappable drive bays, the computer may stop responding (lock up) when you swap between two ultra DMA devices. This occurs because Pciide.sys does not support this type of swapping. For further information, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article 322359.
